Post metallers earthtone9 released the ‘IV’ album in April 2013, after a decade long hiatus.

"This album was fuelled by a tangible sense of joy’ explains frontman Karl Middleton. ‘Being able to come back to earthtone9 with a clear sense of purpose and none of the stresses we endured first time round has meant the music has just flooded out."

Indeed, the ‘IV’ album showcases earthtone9 in dynamic form – combining a high octane metal sound with a real sense of experimentation. Tracks like ‘God Cloud’, ‘Harsh Light’ and ‘March Of The Yeti’ are powered by massive riffs and pile driving rhythms. And they sit comfortably alongside the serpentine flow of ten minute soundscape ‘Occam’s Razor’ and melancholic behemoth ‘Our Last Sunrise’.

Produced by Romesh Dodangoda (Motorhead, Bullet For My Valentine, Twin Atlantic, The Blackout etc) the album is a slab of modern metal that won’t disappoint.

"We could not be more proud of this record,’ explains drummer Simon Hutchby. ‘It’s exactly the kind of music we’d want to listen to."
